Credit Works Directors

Credit Works is a limited company established by Carole Stott and Finbar Lillis. Both Carole and Finbar have extensive experience in teaching and learning, widening participation and progression, quality assurance and development, and using credit to structure and recognise achievement and develop credit-based qualifications

Together they conceptualised and established Credit Works in 2004, a new research and development consultancy which has secured important contracts from national government agencies and influenced the reform agenda in the UK.

Carole Stott has over 20 years experience in education, spanning schools, further, higher and adult education. She has extensive experience at Chief Executive and senior management levels spanning qualifications, research, curriculum development and quality assurance.

She is currently Chair of the Board of Governors at City Lit in London, a trustee of Helena Kennedy Foundation and member of the Policy Committee, NIACE.

Finbar Lillis has worked in education for over 20 years, in the private, public and voluntary sectors both in the UK and abroad.

After working in training and development in industry, Finbar managed multi-purpose projects with disadvantaged communities in England. He went on to work for the OCN movement, managing and working on national and international research projects and influencing education reform in the UK and overseas. He was instrumental in 1997 in successfully introducing to Sweden the model of credit now adopted for the Qualifications and Credit Framework in England. His extensive experience in the corporate and community sectors brings a fresh and informed perspective to the reform of curriculum and qualifications.
